I've always been fascinated by how forensic scientists piece together
clues to solve real mysteries. That's why I created
Forensic Fun Camp — an
immersive, week-long experience designed for curious young detectives
ages 8-13 who love solving mysteries, asking "why," and thinking like
investigators.
This camp is designed in two age groups. Our younger investigators
(ages 8-10) take on the role of forensic investigators, working
together to solve a cuddly crime — learning the fundamentals of
forensic science through hands-on activities. Our older detectives
(ages 11-13) step into the shoes of real-life crime scene
investigators, working together to solve a more complex real-life
crime mystery using advanced forensic science techniques.
Throughout the week, campers dive deep into the fascinating world of
forensics through hands-on experiences such as blood typing
experiments to learn how blood type clues can solve cases, hair and
fiber analysis using microscopes to match evidence to suspects,
fingerprint analysis to dust, lift, and compare fingerprint patterns,
and foot impression analysis to compare tracks and match them to
suspects. Older campers also map a crime scene to document and sketch
evidence like professional investigators, explore DNA profiling to
simulate how scientists use DNA to identify suspects, compare shoe and
tire impressions to match prints to the right suspect or vehicle, and
investigate firearms identification to learn how bullet markings lead
to answers.
But this camp is more than just science — it's a full week of fun!
Between all the crime-solving, campers enjoy immersive forensic VR
experiences that let them step into a virtual crime scene for a fully
immersive investigation, arcade time to take a break and have some
playful competition with friends, arts 'n' crafts to get creative with
forensic-inspired projects, and outdoor activities and sports
challenges to stay active with friendly team games.
One of the highlights of the week is a special field trip to the
Toronto Police Museum for a tour and presentation — it's an experience
they'll never forget! The week wraps up with the Final Case Challenge,
where campers put everything they've learned into action to solve the
case and celebrate their success.
Forensic Fun Camp offers a one-of-a-kind experience that keeps kids

teamwork, problem-solving, and science skills. With its perfect mix of
