Discovery. Observation. Curiosity Unleashed.
Join us at The JunXion in The Junction, West Toronto! Welcoming young nature explorers from Roncesvalles, Bloor West Village, High Park, Junction Triangle, Royal York, Kingsway, and Bloor-Runnymede. Explore how ecosystems really work through hands-on experiments, real-world science, and outdoor fun. Become active scientists, observers, and nature lovers.
Each activity helps them connect with the natural world in meaningful ways — from testing pond water to building wind turbines!
Founder & Camp Creator
❝ I've always believed that the best way to understand nature is to observe it closely. That's why I created Ecology-In-Action Nature Camp — it's all about seeing nature up close and understanding how it works. Campers become explorers, scientists, and observers, diving into the fascinating science of ecosystems through hands-on activities, experiments, and outdoor adventures.
One of the most special parts of this camp is when campers adopt an animal — like a butterfly or ladybug — and observe its growth from larvae to adult. Because this process can take several weeks, campers who attend early in the summer will be invited back for a special release day to watch their "babies" be set free into the wild!
Throughout the week, campers build a pond simulation and watch firsthand how organisms interact in a mini-ecosystem. They experiment with hydropower and wind power, learning about renewable energy through fun, STEM-approved projects. They explore food chains and habitats, discovering how everything in nature is connected. And during their field trip to High Park, they test water for contaminants — after enjoying the zoo and playground, of course.
And because camp should be as fun as it is educational, the week is packed with eco and nature VR experiences to explore forests, oceans, and more without leaving camp, arcade time for fun breaks and friendly competition, nature-themed arts 'n' crafts to create art inspired by plants, animals, and ecosystems, and outdoor activities with friendly sports challenges to stay active and enjoy the summer sun.
Each age group will enjoy different levels of participation, content, and project complexity, so the experience is always engaging, challenging, and appropriate for their stage of learning.
Ecology-In-Action is perfect for campers who love to ask "why?" and want to watch, wonder, and learn how nature works. By the end of the week, campers will have developed a deeper understanding of the natural world, a sense of stewardship for the environment, and a collection of fun memories — all while getting messy, creative, and having fun.
If your kid is curious about nature and wants to understand how ecosystems work, this is the camp for them!
