YOUR FIRST MOVE: Join us at The JunXion in The Junction, West Toronto! Serving young learners from Roncesvalles, Bloor West Village, High Park, Junction Triangle, Islington, Royal York, and Bloor-Runnymede. Whether your child is a complete beginner or already knows their pawns from their rooks, this camp builds strategic thinking, patience, and problem-solving — all while having a blast! Fun games, puzzles, and physical play keep every day exciting.

❝ Chess is one of my all-time favorite things to teach. There's something about watching a kid's brain click into strategy mode that just makes my day. That's exactly why I created Intro to Chess Camp — where strategy meets summer fun!

Whether your child is brand new to chess or already knows the board, this camp blends learning with immersive fun and hands-on exploration. We welcome ALL skill levels — ages 5-7, 8-10, and 11-13. Brand new beginners? We've got you. Already playing tournaments? We'll help you level up. Everyone plays, everyone learns, everyone has a blast.

Camp Highlights:

  • Daily Chess Lessons — Learn the rules, openers, strategies and tactics
  • Bonus Arcade Time — Unwind and recharge with extra play in our epic arcade zone
  • Immersive VR Chess — Step inside the board with bonus virtual reality gameplay
  • Physical Activities — Keep bodies moving with indoor & outdoor active games
  • Creative Crafts — Express and build with camp art and chess-themed creations
  • Board Games & Free Play — Chill time, classic games, and friend-making built in
  • Challenges & Prizes — Light-hearted competitions and rewards to boost confidence!

Your child's brain deserves a summer workout — and a blast while doing it. Camp runs 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with extended care available from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. We need a minimum of 8 campers to run each session. Bring a friend — when they register, you both get 10% credit!
